«The borders between the human and the animal appear with frequency desdibujadas in all the cultures through his artistic demonstrations, already was attributing to the human animal behaviours (like the berserker Nordic) or to the animal human behaviours (to the way of the animals of the Fábulas of Esopo), already was presenting mythological beings to half way between ones and others (the esfinge Greek, the licántropo European, the men African leopard or the tengu Japanese, among others).

However, it is not until the 19th century when the philosophers begin to reflexionar deeply on the accuracy of the distinction taxonómica between humans and animal. For example, Jeremy Bentham affirmed that only a tyrant could forget that we share with the animals the capacity to suffer. Some religious leaders also have thought openly on the question in the last decades, remembering us that the animals have the capacity to suffer (the current Dalai Lama) or even the possible existence of an animal soul (John Paul II). In the another extreme, authors like Michael P.T. Leahy Consider this type of positionings like sample of a wrong antropomorfismo that attributes to the animal shots exclusively humans like the wish of freedom or the research of the happiness.

In his classical Animal essay Liberation, Peter Singer concludes that, to the equal that the women or the African blacks have been abused on the base of physiological differences morally irrelevant, the animals have fallen also in the erroneous side of a supposed %u201Cline infranqueable%u201D that separates to the beings that have importance of the rest. However, unlike the feminist or ethnic communities, that over time have been able to build an own speech and claim his alteridad, the animal can not erigirse in subject enunciador of his own identity».
